The Prince and Princess of Wales impose a strict tea time rule on their three Royal children, which means that they sometimes leave them to eat alone.

The Royal Family are fans of some strange and strict protocol, like dress codes, reports the Mirror. However, these rules can also extend to normal family things as well, like guidelines around dinner.

William and Kate have a rule that they don't eat with their children during the holidays and official dinners, a former Royal chef has revealed.Darren McGrady told Harper’s Bazaar that children George, 10, Charlotte, eight, and Louis, five, eat apart from their parents during special events or official dinners.

This is because the three kids "aren’t allowed to sit with the adults until they have learned the art of polite conversation", the chef claims. While discussing what it was like working for the Royal Family, Darren said that this rule was in place for larger holidays like Christmas time, or official dinners.
