Netflix customers in the UK are being issued new information about the crack-down on password sharing and how they can follow the new regulations.

The streaming giant has said that it's clamping down on sharing accounts with more than one household from today, May 23, after already being introduced in Canada and Spain.Viewers will have to pay an additional £4.99 a month to add on extra people to their subscription, but this won't happen automatically and customers will have to opt-in.

The Mirror reports that those in the same household can still use Netflix wherever they are, including on holiday or on the go.

There's currently no update on if customers will be asked to set a 'primary location'.Netflix subscribers were previously warned they shouldn't share password with anyone else who they don't live with.
