Mum's desperate Facebook plea before son, 2, was tragically found dead in canal

A mum took to Facebook in a desperate plea when her toddler son went missing, only hours before she was heard "screaming" as the little boy was tragically found dead in a nearby canal.The two year old lad was retrieved from the waters in Wolverhampton after he had wandered away from his home on Ettingshall Road in All Saints on Sunday evening, 11 August, reportedly to feed the ducks.

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that despite the paramedics' "best efforts", the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Local residents reported hearing "loud screams" when police discovered the young boy's body around 6pm.They also revealed that the mother of the child, who has not been named, had posted on Facebook about her missing son shortly before the heartbreaking discovery.
