However, game developers are paid with in-game currency Roblux, with Roblox taking a 75.5 per cent cut of all profits.

Billie Eilish announced that she’d be taking to Fortnite on its festival’s headline stage today (April 23).The ‘Ocean Eyes’ singer will be a playable character in Fortnite Festival, Fortnite‘s rhythm game that emulates the likes of Guitar Hero and Rock Band. We don’t know exactly what this collaboration will include, or which of the singer’s songs, but when previous artists took the virtual stage, players were able to play as them and play some of their top hits.Eilish will be headlining Fortnite Festival season three.

Saber Interactive boss has confirmed the remake of Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic is still in development following the shake-up at Embracer.A remake of Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic has been in the works since 2021 but it’s faced a turbulent development. Originally, the remake of the 2003 game was due to be created by Aspyr Media before development was put on hold in 2022, following the sudden firing of two senior developers.Saber Interactive, which had joined the project earlier that year, then took over the remake.Updates have been few and far between, with Knights Of The Old Republic predicted to have a 2025 release date.

Aspyr has admitted a series of “critical errors” impacted the launch of the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection.Originally announced last month, the Classic Collection brought together the first two Star Wars Battlefront games for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series.Alongside the base games, the package included a number of bonus levels and characters as well as an online multiplayer mode that was advertised as allowing up to 64 players to take part in challenges like conquest, capture the flag, hunt, hero assault, and space assault.However, when Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection launched yesterday (March 14), players found themselves facing a number of bugs and glitches, alongside a seemingly tiny number of servers available for multiplayer. Ubisoft Montpellier has confirmed a post-release roadmap for Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown featuring new bosses, stories and game modes.The Lost Crown, the first new Prince Of Persia game for 14 years, was released earlier this year and now Ubisoft has confirmed a series of updates set to come to the title over the next few months.Warrior’s Path, the first of three free updates, is set to launch later this month, bringing a new speedrun mode and a permadeath mode to the game alongside new Sargon outfits.The second, Boss Attack, is set to launch in Spring 2024 and will introduce more outfits and a boss rush mode to Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown.

Sony Interactive Entertainment and PlayStation worldwide Shawn Layden has spoken about the importance of platform-exclusive games.The discussion around platform-exclusives has heated up in recent months after Microsoft confirmed a number of Xbox-exclusives would be made available on “rival” consoles. Both Grounded and Pentiment are due to come to Nintendo Switch while Hi-Fi Rush and Sea Of Thieves are coming to the PS5.Speaking on the What’s Up PlayStation podcast, Layden said (via VGC): “Exclusivity will always be important, it helps focus and highlight the features of your platform. What can you do here technically that you can’t do someplace else.“But, as your platform becomes established as the market recognises where you sit in that pantheon of gaming options, I think the necessity of exclusivity becomes a little bit less,” he added.Earlier this month, Layden described exclusivity as a studio’s “Achilles’ heel” due to increasing production costs.

Toys For Bob, the developer of Crash Bandicoot 4 and the remastered Spyro collection, has confirmed it’s going independent.Toys For Bob was founded in 1989 before being acquired by Activision in 2005, where they worked on Skylanders. As well as heading up a number of sequels, Toys For Bob also developed Crash Bandicoot 4 and was behind 2018’s Spyro Reignited Trilogy.As part of the recent wave of layoffs at Activision Blizzard, Toys For Bob lost 89 members of staff and saw the closure of their Californian offices.In a new blog post though, Toys For Bob has confirmed it has broken away from Activision.

Nintendo has confirmed the release of Pokémon Legends Z-A, which is due 2025.The announcement came yesterday as part of the annual Pokémon Day celebrations and despite The Pokémon Company confirming it had several “exciting” plans, it still took fans by surprise for a number of reasons.Not only had Game Freak been hinting at a remake of Pokémon Black & White following the success of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl in 2021 but Nintendo had never confirmed that Legends: Arceus was anything more than a standalone title.However, Pokémon Legends Z-A is due for release some time in 2025 and will take players back to the Parisian-inspired central city of Pokémon X & Pokémon Y.“A new adventure awaits within Lumiose City, where an urban redevelopment plan is under way to shape the city into a place that belongs to both people and Pokémon,” said the official description, with the trailer also hinting at the return of fan-favourite feature mega-evolutions, which haven’t been used since 2014’s Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.While Arceus took players back in time to a very early version of the Sinnoh region, known as Hisui, the futuristic look of Lumiose City has fans speculating that Z-A will see them time travelling into the near future.The Pokémon set to feature in Z-A have yet to revealed, but the trailer leans heavily on generation six with Aegislash, Litleo, Pyroar, Klefki, Talonflame, Furfrou, Gogoat, Fletchling, Sylveon, Espurr, Flabébé and Hawlucha all showcased, alongside a lot of Pikachu action.

Hi-Fi Rush has been officially announced for release on PlayStation 5 next month, alongside several other formerly Xbox console exclusive titles.The title will launch on March 19 on PlayStation 5, with physical versions for the platform available exclusively through Limited Run Games. While a Switch release for Hi-Fi Rush has been rumoured, there is currently no official notice on if those rumours were actually true.Alongside Hi-Fi Rush, Xbox is also bringing three other previously exclusive games to new systems.

It then shows the genres that the player has played throughout the year.It also tells players what their first game of 2023 was, along with breaking down monthly playtime along with the month that a user played the most hours during.The biggest game to release on Nintendo Switch this year, and likely one of the most played in a lot of people’s Year In Review, is The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, a sequel to 2017’s The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild.NME‘s review called The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom a “surprisingly safe sequel”, with Dominic Preston writing that the title “commits the egregious sin of merely being a very good game” and that compared to Breath Of The Wild, the game is “quite simply more of the same”.“Tears of the Kingdom plays it safe, which is a shame for the follow-up to the least safe Zelda in decades,” he writes.“Still, it’s hard to complain too much about getting more of one of the all-time greats, and there are enough tweaks to make it feel worth playing all over again.”In other gaming news, major Starfield bugs have reportedly not been fixed by a recent patch.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has confirmed the company has “no plans” to bring Game Pass to Nintendo or PlayStation.Game Pass currently allows gamers access to hundreds of PC and Xbox titles on a subscription-basis. Fortnite has confirmed a massive collaboration with Lego, with a series of skins and a new survival crafting mode coming to the game.Set to launch December 7, the update will bring a new Lego-themed survival crafting mode⁠ to Fortnite alongside a number of updates skins.The Lego skins will be a free alternative to a number of existing skins, with the mini-fig look available via player’s wardrobes. Several emojis will also have a Lego reworking.According to Epic Games, 1200 Lego skins will be available at launch, with a number of those “highly detailed”. Psyonix has announced player-to-player trading in Rocket League will be removed in December so that it aligns with Epic Games‘ terms for in-game items.“We’re making this change to align with Epic’s overall approach to game cosmetics and item shop policies, where items aren’t tradable, transferrable, or sellable,” explained Psyonix in a post to the game’s official website.It said that the move “opens up future plans” for a selection of Rocket League vehicles to cross over into other offerings from Epic Games, though it was not stated which games these would be.Rocket League and Fortnite crossed over for the first time in 2020 following Psyonix’s buyout by Epic Games in the previous year.This was followed by the High Octane event in 2022, which brought the game’s iconic Octane battlecar to Fortnite and let players pull off stunts to travel across the map and escape from skirmishes.It also allowed Rocket League and Rocket League Sideswipe players to earn the Whiplash car in those games through the completion of High Octane quests on the Rocket League Live Island in Fortnite.Player-to-player trading in the game will end at midnight GMT on December 6.
