Mum of teenager killed in crash could finally get answers seven years after his death

The family of a 15-year-old boy killed in a crash could finally get the answers they have been waiting years for. Dylan Crossey died when he was knocked off his bike by a BMW in Whitestake, Lancashire in 2016.

But questions surrounding his death remain unanswered, LancsLive reports. Now, a new date has been set for the inquest to resume after being dramatically stopped last year when Dr James Adeley referred the case back to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

He asked for a new charge of gross negligence manslaughter to be considered after new evidence emerged during the course of the week-long hearing.

That inquest had taken place five years after the schoolboy's death in order to first allow for a criminal trial to take place which saw driver David Harwood accused of charged with causing death by dangerous or careless driving.
