EastEnders fans are wondering if a major return may be on the cards for Max Branning, as the Cindy Beale comeback storyline unfolds.Cindy made her own dramatic return to the soap this week after 25 years and, as expected, caused carnage as the Beales and Knights collided when her reason for leaving both her families came to light.And now, fans have predicted a revenge twist as more is yet to be addressed about what happened whilst Cindy was away and how she found Ian over a year ago.Fans of the show now know that in 1998, Cindy faked her own death and was enrolled into witness protection after informing on her cellmate whilst in prison, reports the Mirror.As she was in witness protection, she was given a new identity, now going by the name 'Rose', going on to marry George Knight and relocate to Marbella with their two kids, Anna and Gina, until she left them in 2014, after discovering Lucy Beale had been murdered.In the past year, Cindy discovered it was Bobby Beale who killed her daughter in 2014, after a young Bobby accidentally murdered his sister during a row, and the crime was covered up for two years.However, fans are unsure whether Cindy is aware of Lucy's fling with Max Branning and the fact he was not only accused of killing her but was actually framed by the Beales for the heinous crime.Max is currently away from Walford after going on the run with his young granddaughter Abi.He fled Walford after clashing with a number of residents following him going off the rails in 2021.Initially, Max fled without Abi - however, he returned to snatch her later on.And to make matters more confusing within Walford, Abi is actually the granddaughter of returning character Cindy.
