Conor Wilkinson scored his first league goal at home for Motherwell on Sunday - and admits all he needs now is to find a house of his own to feel truly settled in Scotland. The 28-year-old moved north from English League Two side Walsall in the summer to sign a two-year deal at Fir Park.Having packed his bags for life in the Scottish Premiership, he is currently juggling adjusting to a new club with living in a hotel. But he says his team-mates have helped make life easier for him.Wilkinson, who netted in the Steelmen's 2-1 win over Hibs, revealed: "It has been tough moving here.

I've had to come away from what I know."I'm living in a hotel and I've been there for a month now, so that's not been the easiest part of it."It is just me and my missus so we are just waiting until we can get a house now and live together again."We are being patient and hopefully by the end of the month we'll be out and in a new home."But in terms of settling in, the lads have been fantastic and I feel like I've got the bit between my teeth now."Wilkinson arrived shortly after the club said a fond farewell to last season's scoring sensation Kevin van Veen, who moved to Dutch side FC Groningen in his homeland after netting 29 goals in all competitions. With a goal in the Viaplay Cup group stage win over East Fife and now a Premiership goal to his name early on, the English-born Irishman is thrilled to be off the mark so soon.He said: "It is always a delight to get that first goal early."You don't want to be chasing it and being behind with a bad ratio, so I will take that first one at home in the league and hopefully the goals continue."Motherwell are back in action this weekend when they travel to St Mirren in the last 16 of the Viaplay Cup.Follow
