Heavy snow could hit parts of the UK later this week, according to the latest weather map from the Met Office. Forecasters have predicted a cloudy and wet week for the most part with patchy showers and maximum temperatures of 8C expected on Tuesday.
The later part of the week could see some more unsettled conditions with some heavy rain at times and strong winds. The Met Office said it will start to feel colder by the end of the week with "some wintriness possible over hills".
By the weekend, temperatures are expected to "slowly recover to near average for early March" but with frost expected overnight. At 6am, snow has been forecast across the north west of England in Lancashire and Cumbria, with the heaviest snow expected on higher ground around the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the Pennines, as well as across much of Scotland.
