Echo and The Bunnymen’s Ian McCulloch has sung at Happy Mondays’ Paul Ryder’s funeral.Ryder, who was the bassist of the Happy Mondays and brother of frontman Shaun, died last month at the age of 58.Posting the news on social media, the band wrote: “The Ryder family and Happy Mondays band members are deeply saddened and shocked to say that Paul Ryder passed away this morning. A true pioneer and legend. He will be forever missed.”Alan McGee, who was in attendance at the service, described it as an “amazing send off” and recalled how he spoke at the beginning of the funeral, which took place in Manchester yesterday (August 4).

Kathy Baker (“Picket Fences,” “Edward Scissorhands”), Boris McGiver (“For Life,” “House of Cards”), Caleb Dolden (“The Requiem Boogie,” “Single Parents”), Emilie Bierre (“A Colony,” “The Guide to the Perfect Family”), and Luciano Leroux (“Yellowjackets,” “A Million Little Things”) have all joined the cast of the series. They join previously announced cast members Yvonne Strahovski, Scott Speedman, and Chaske Spencer.

Speedman will now star alongside previously announced cast member Yvonne Strahovski. Inspired by the Robert McCammon novel “Stinger,” the series is said to follow “a disparate group of people in rural Georgia who must come together in the face of a mysterious threat in order to survive.” Speedman will play James Chenoweth, while Strahovski will star as Maggie Chenoweth.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Simu Liu is set to star in what is described as an espionage techno-thriller that has been ordered straight to series at Peacock. The announcement was made at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena. The untitled series hails from Thomas Brandon (“Legacies”) with James Wan attached as an executive producer.

NBCUniversal is giving a straight-to-series order to three drama series for Peacock from Universal Studio Group, it was revealed Wednesday at the company’s TCA presentation.

He was 73. The news was announced by his brother and Gentle Giant bandmate Derek, who wrote in a statement: “I am deeply saddened to announce that my younger brother and my best friend Ray Shulman passed away on March 30th at his home in London. I was with him until the end as he bravely battled a long illness. At least I know he is now at peace. “Ray really was a genius in so many ways. He was an incredible composer, musician, music producer and tech wizard. Together with myself and my elder brother Philip he was a founding member of Simon Dupree & The Big Sound and subsequently Gentle Giant. He went on to produce artists like the Sundays, the Sugarcubes, Ian McCulloch and many more. More recently he devoted his tech and musical expertise in authoring and remixing other artists like Jethro Tull, Genesis, King Crimson and many more.”

Ian Brown played a homecoming Manchester gig this weekend (September 30), and dedicated the set to late Happy Mondays bassist Paul Ryder.Brown is currently on his first UK headline tour in a decade, and played the O2 Victoria Warehouse in his hometown on Friday night.As reported by the Manchester Evening News, Brown told the crowd: “I just want to dedicate tonight’s set to one of the greatest human beings I ever met. Let’s hear it for Mr Paul Ryder.”Ryder passed away on July 15 at the age of 58.

The Rolling Stones have confirmed that Sam Fender, Phoebe Bridgers, The War On Drugs and Courtney Barnett will support the band at their BST Hyde Park shows.The band will be performing two concerts in London in the summer as part of their 60th anniversary tour.The Stones have announced The War On Drugs and Bridgers will support them on June 25, while Fender and Barnett will appear on July 3.Following on from their acclaimed USA ‘No Filter’ tour, their latest jaunt will see Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood make their long-awaited return to the UK, also performing at the home of Liverpool FC – Anfield, for the Stones’ first in Liverpool show for over 50 years.Echo And The Bunnymen will provide support for that concert. Echo And The Bunnymen co-founder Will Sergeant has announced a memoir, Bunnyman.The guitarist, 62, will detail “what it was really like to be part of one of the most influential and important British bands of the 1980s” with the forthcoming book, as per a press release.He’ll also look back on growing up in Liverpool during the 1960s and ’70s while recalling personal experiences of the city’s emerging punk scene, before his fortuitous meeting with Bunnymen frontman Ian McCulloch.Bunnyman: A Memoir is set to be released on July 15 via Constable/Little Brown.

Echo & The Bunnymen have announced a raft of new UK tour dates for 2021.The post punk band will be hitting the road for a 16 date jaunt to mark over 40 years since they released their debut album ‘Crocodiles’, starting at Sheffield City Hall on Friday, May 7, with a stop at London’s Roundhouse on May 12.Tickets go on sale Friday (June 26) at 9.30am.Speaking about the dates, frontman Ian McCulloch said: “Well then, here are the dates for our 2021 UK tour!
