Masked teenager who stole Range Rover before leading cops on 100 mph chase avoids jail

A masked up teenager who stole a Range Rover before leading the police on a 100 mph chase through Bury and Bolton has avoided going to prison.

18-year-old Terry Nelson was part of a group of four males seen rifling through the boot of the Evoque by a passing driver, before speeding off, Minshull Street Crown Court heard.

The car was later picked up by Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras at speeds of 100mph. Nelson, of Bolton, who was driving the stolen vehicle, was seen to drive on the wrong side of the dual carriageway and nearly crash into other cars. The vehicle almost hit her vehicle as it drove off.” Officers later found a boot cover, three hockey sticks and a bank card belonging to the owner of the Range Rover at the scene.
