Man who died in south Manchester house fire 'involving e-scooter' named
manchestereveningnews.co.ukA man who died in a devastating south Manchester house fire has been named as Ian Sinclair. The blaze broke out on Ellesmere Road South in Chorlton in the early hours of Friday morning (August 2).
After receiving multiple 999 calls, fire crews raced to the scene where they said they were met by a 'a significant, well-developed fire that had spread through the ground and first floors of the house.' The body of a man in his 70s, now named as Mr Sinclair, was sadly discovered inside the house.
A man in his 30s had managed to rescue himself from the property before fire crews arrived, and was later taken for treatment at Wythenshawe Hospital, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said. Fire chiefs they are not yet able to determine the exact cause of the blaze, but a statement from GMFRS said it is 'believed to have involved an e-scooter.' GMP say there not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
