A man was arrested on suspicion of gun crime after reports of a 'disturbance' on a street in the early hours of Sunday, police have revealed.
The man, 38, was held on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, GMP added. He was taken into custody where he remained on Sunday for questioning.
Police said officers were scrambled to Nursery Street in Pendleton, Salford, at around 3am on Sunday. The Manchester Evening News understands armed police were also called to the scene. Residents living on the street, which is near the A6, woke up to find a cordon in place, with officers standing guard at the scene.
