A knifeman held a grandad hostage in his own home during a terrifying robbery. Jake Anderson, 22, was one of two men who raided the man's home after ordering his granddaughter to get into his car.

After driving to her grandparent's address, the pair stormed inside and stole cash, cigarettes and a mobile phone. The other man - referred to in court as Mr X - held the girl's grandfather at knifepoint during the early hours raid. He accused her and her family of being 'a bunch of grasses', adding: "I’m going to burn yous out, you don’t know who I am”. At Bolton Crown Court on Monday, Anderson was jailed for seven years.

Prosecutor Eve Salter told the court that Anderson had known the girl for several months prior to the incident and that she and her grandparents had allowed him to stay in their home when he found himself homeless.
