Manchester United are braced for a backlash from supporters if the Glazer family decide not to sell the club. Although the Raine Group, the merchant bank tasked with overseeing a possible sale of United, indicated a takeover would go through, figures at United have stressed the strategic review highlighted the possibility of "new investment".
