Second motorcyclist loses life in crash - days after mum-of-two dies

A second motorcyclist has lost their life on a West Lothian road just days after a mum-of-two-was killed in a horror accident.A male biker passed away following a crash in Addiewell yesterday.The incident, involving a blue Suzuki GSXR motorbike, happened around 9.25 pm on Monday on the B792 Blackburn Road.Emergency services attended but the 43-year-old male rider died at the scene.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.The road was closed for around four hours whilst a full collision investigation was carried out.

It was re-opened around 1.35 am on Tuesday, 15 August.It comes just days after mum-of-two Natalie Hawkins, 35, died following a smash on the A89, between Armadale and Westrigg.Her heartbroken family say “a void has been left in the hearts" following her passing.Sergeant Barry Sommerville, Roads Policing Unit, Livingston, said of Monday's accident: “We are keen to hear from any motorists, especially any with dash-cam footage, who were driving on the B792 between 9.10 pm and 9.25 pm.“If you were in the area and have not yet spoke to police and have information you feel may assist our investigation, then please call officers on 101 quoting incident number 4192 of Monday, 14 August 2023."
