Lanarkshire man safe and well after going missing on Spanish holiday

A Lanarkshire man who went missing in Magaluf is “safe and well” after a group of Irish holidaymakers found him and helped him return to his hotel and begin his journey back home.Hamilton resident Iain Patterson failed to meet his friend for their scheduled flight home last Friday, with his frantic loved ones then issuing an appeal to trace him.The 45-year-old was assisted by a group of Irish holidaymakers who spotted him on the Spanish island, and Iain flew back to the UK on Monday.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

The Irish tourists who helped him got him a taxi back to his hotel, with Iain then flying to Manchester and completing his journey back to Lanarkshire by bus.

Friend James told Glasgow Live: “He managed to make it home on Monday night – he is doing alright but is very tired. He is well and resting. “We are very happy and so relieved that he is fine.
