A Lanarkshire woman has bravely opened up about her mum twice trying to kill her when she was a child.Monica Allan was only five-years-old when her mother, Elizabeth Mount, attempted to drown and strangle her to death.Mount shockingly also tried to end Monica's life when she was a baby.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

The change to the rule came too late for the now 55-year-old.Monica fought her case at the Supreme Court and was awarded a payout from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority for the sexual abuse she suffered in foster care.She is now awaiting a second settlement for the attacks carried out by her mother.
