Dementia is a hugely common condition with an estimated 90,000 people across Scotland affected, according to Public Health Scotland.
The condition is progressive, which means it gets worse with time, and the number of dementia cases is expected to increase as the population ages.
According to a dementia expert from Brunel University London, dementia is expected to impact 153 million people across the world by 2050.
Unfortunately, there is no cure for the condition, however, spotting the signs early can allow for a treatment plan to be put into place as soon as possible to help patients manage symptoms.
