Erling Haaland OUT of Scotland clash as Man City hero sparks major injury fears after Norway knock

Erling Haaland was the man that the Tartan Army feared the most ahead of Scotland's clash with Norway at Hampden Park on Sunday - but he won't take part after major injury fears were sparked.Haaland is one of the only players to have scored against Scotland in Euro 2024 qualifying group A after seven games - with the Treble winner scoring from the spot on that memorable day in Oslo where a late Lyndon Dykes and Kenny McLean double-salvo turned the game on its head to send Steve Clarke's men into absolute ecstasy.With only Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Alvaro Morata entering the exclusive list of players to down the Scottish defence in qualifying, fans were expectant that Haaland would come back to register his second goal against the nation in as many games when Norway come to town on Sunday to wrap up what has been the most enjoyable qualification process for quite some time.

But he won't be taking part as Norway's club doctor opened up on the extent of his sidelined spell.Speaking ahead of the trip to Glasgow, the team doctor said: “He is in so much pain and somewhat restricted function, that the Scotland game unfortunately comes a little too early”.Haaland picked up an injury late into Norway's win over the Faroe Islands on Thursday evening, and boss Stale Solbakken admits he will be a big miss though it will be time for somebody else to step up.

He said: "It is of course a shame that Erling will not be ready for the match on Sunday, but we will not be bringing in a replacement.
