ok.co.ukEmmerdale actress Roxy Shahidi has revealed the surprising way her husband Arsher Ali proposed to her, just two weeks after meeting and before they even shared their first kiss.The pair were working together on a London stage play when Arsher popped the question at a cast party.
Recalling this in 2014 Roxy, who tied the knot with Arsher in 2010, told the Irish Mirror: "He just looked me in the eye at a cast party and said, 'Will you marry me?
I didn't answer and he said, 'You will be my wife' and that was it. "I didn't quite know what to make of it because I didn't know him that well.
I knew that he liked me but we hadn't really said anything. We hadn't even kissed!" She then added: "I half wanted to laugh and say, 'That's absolutely ridiculous! ' and the other half thought, 'Oooh, kiss me passionately!" Three years later, Roxy and Archer celebrated their love with a beautiful ceremony surrounded by family and friends, although the actress later confirmed that it wasn't a legal ceremony.They later welcomed a baby daughter in 2018, but have kept her name private in the years since.
