Tragic Scots school teacher hailed ‘absolute gentleman’ after sudden death as former football teams pay tribute
PE teacher who died suddenly this week.James ‘Jimmy’ Hannay taught PE at the North West Community Campus in Dumfries after working at Maxwelltown High School in the years prior.He previously enjoyed a successful football career and played for teams including Annan Athletic FC, Dalbeattie Star and the Blackwood Dynamos.Jimmy, who was in his 40s, was also a talented musician and the lead vocalist in his band Nae Banter.Friends, colleagues, former pupils and his former football clubs have all shared heartfelt tributes to him on social media after he passed away on Thursday.Anna Athletic FC wrote: “Everyone associated with the club are saddened and devastated to hear of the sudden, sad passing of former player James 'Jimmy' Hannay.“Defender
