Emmerdale and Coronation Street in schedule shake-up as they're pulled from regular slots

Two of the UK's most popular soaps - Emmerdale and Coronation Street - will face disruption to their usual schedule in upcoming weeks.The ITV soaps with interrupted air times are both in the midst of some big storylines, as Coronation Street follows Stephen Reid's attempts to get away with murder while Charity and Liam are set to have a blossoming romance in Emmerdale.

Emmerdale usually airs at 7.30pm for half an hour each evening, with an hour long episode on Thursday nights. Meanwhile, Corrie usually airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm for an hour.

However, in an upcoming shake-up commencing Monday, 4 September, there will be some big changes for the soaps. On Monday, both soaps will air as normal in their 7.30pm and 8pm slots respectively.

On Tuesday, Emmerdale will air a special hour long edition from the earlier time of 7pm, with ITV News being cut short by half an hour that evening.
