The death of a man in Rochdale is no longer being treated as suspicious, police have confirmed. Detectives launched a murder investigation after the 27-year-old man was found dead at a house in Kensington Street, Deeplish, on Friday afternoon (July 21).

Officers had been called to a concern for welfare at the property at about 2.10pm. A woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.

In an update issued today (Sunday), the force said the man's death is no longer being treated as suspicious following a Home Office post-mortem. In a statement, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "On the afternoon of Friday 21 July 2023, GMP were called to a concern for welfare of a man at a property on Kensington Street, Rochdale. "Upon attending the address, a 27-year-old man was discovered inside, and shortly afterwards sadly pronounced dead by emergency services.

A woman was arrested on suspicion of murder at scene. However, following further investigation and a Home Office post mortem, the death is now being treated as non-suspicious and no further action will be taken against the woman in this case.
