Ayr United inflicted a first home Championship defeat on Airdrie this season, as goals from Logan Chalmers and Anton Dowds sent the points back to Somerset Park.Airdrie's Lewis McGregor pulled a goal back just after the hour-mark, but it wasn't enough to spark a fightback. The result keeps Ayr in eighth place, but reduced the gap between them and fifth-placed Airdrie to three points as they both head into a blank weekend.
