Niontay shares new EP Demon Muppy
thefader.comThroughout 2023, Niontay has consistently released music displaying an adventurous ear for beats and one of the most enchanting new flows in rap: words muddle together like flavors in a gumbo, his delivery slouched yet insistent.
After dropping his debut album Dontay's Inferno in March, Niontay returns with Demon Muppy, a new six-track EP. Demon Muppy was announced back in October with "Real Hiphop," a bossed-up cut with MIKE and Earl Sweatshirt.
Surf Gang's Harrison produces the pitched-up bounce of "2AM Pete's" and 454 shows up for a verse on "Supa Bowl LVIII" and behind the boards for "In my UA sweater." My favorite new track, though, is probably the opener "YATKAMAN3000" thanks to its beat that sounds like Yellow Magic Orchestra in the '90s.
