Lionsgate’s Helen Lee-Kim Extends Deal as Film Group’s International President

Rebecca Rubin Film and Media Reporter Helen Lee-Kim has extended her contract as president of international for Lionsgate‘s Motion Picture Group.

Lee-Kim has generated nearly $1 billion in sales since rejoining the company in December 2017, according to the company. She will continue to head the international licensing of Lionsgate’s movies in theaters and on digital platforms.

Lee-Kim and her team’s recent work has included “John Wick: Chapter Four,” “Saw X” and “The Hunger Games” prequel “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.” They are also involved in forging alternative distribution strategies for film titles, such as the licensing or sale of “Shotgun Wedding” to Amazon, “Love at First Sight” to Netflix and “Puppy Love” to Amazon’s Freevee label. “Helen is a superstar whose success in growing the John Wick and Saw franchises worldwide is just the latest example of her ability to grow the studio’s stature as a top supplier of premium first-run films,” said Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chair Joe Drake. “She is a trusted partner, a great leader and an extraordinary sales executive who will continue to play a key role in moving the company forward.” Along with Lee-Kim’s extension, Lionsgate has announced new long-term agreements for two senior members of the team: International Motion Picture Group COO Michael Meyer and longtime executive VP of international marketing Brent Jack.

Lee-Kim previously served as president of international at Lionsgate from 2007-2012. She also worked with Drake and Lionsgate Motion Picture Group President Nathan Kahane at Good Universe from 2012 to 2017 and at Mandate Pictures from 2003 to 2007.
