Vinnie Jones has opened up about his ongoing health struggles during a heartfelt conversation about mental health. The former footballer and actor admitted to still having 'bad days' and said no one is 'tough enough not to talk to somebody.' During an appearance on BBC Breakfast via video call, Vinnie spoke to presenters Sally Nugent and Ben Thompson who were joined on the famous red sofa by special guests Tom Dunning and his football buddy Lukas Jonassen.Tom became a lifesaver for Lukas when he suffered a collapse on the pitch, drawing inspiration from Vinnie's memorable CPR advertisement to perform life-saving chest compressions.
Despite it being six years since the ad aired, Tom recalled the crucial message at the perfect moment, administering "hands-only CPR" for an intense 15 minutes.
His only guide had been the advert; he hadn't received any formal training, reports the Express. Reflecting on the experience, Tom shared: "I was off work for mental health at the time, and it just stuck.
I was singing Stayin' Alive while doing compressions on Lukas for 15 minutes and since then it's just stuck." Seizing the opportunity to discuss mental health further, Vinnie contributed his own insights.
