As interest in maintaining a youthful look grows, understanding the impact of diet on skin health and the possibility of reversing signs of ageing becomes crucial.Dr Saleena Zimri, a Teoxane Practitioner and founder of Skin Doctor Clinics, told Express.co.uk that a high-sugar diet can visibly affect your skin, speeding up the ageing process and damaging your complexion's overall health.

She explained: "When you eat a lot of sugar, your body undergoes a process called glycation, in which sugar molecules attach to proteins, including collagen and elastin, which are crucial for maintaining skin's elasticity and firmness." "Glycation weakens these proteins, causing the skin to lose its natural elasticity.
