The Home Secretary has demanded "further action" following a day of demonstrations which saw dozens of arrests. Suella Braverman claimed the capital's streets have been "polluted by hate, violence and antisemitism", following the latest pro-Palestinian march on Saturday (November 11) and the counter-protest by right wing groups.
She also condemned chants and placards during the pro-Palestine rally, which she described as “inflammatory”. Metropolitan Police has charged seven people over disorder that mainly stemmed from far-right counter-protests.
But her first public remarks since Saturday’s ugly scenes focused on displays of antisemitism by some on the pro-Palestinian march she had urged police to ban.
