A man was found to have £100,000 of amphetamine stashed in his car after he was pulled over on the M6. Barry Simmons was stopped on the motorway near Tebay on August 15 this year.
Cumbria Police discovered 10kg of amphetamine with a street value of over £100,000 and 2kg of cannabis resin when searching the car.
Simmons, 40, of Winifred Road, Fazakerley, was arrested and taken to Kendal Police Station. Simmons pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing and was sentenced this week at Carlisle Crown Court for possession with intent to supply class B drugs. Cumbria Constabulary Detective Inspector Jamie Eaton said: "Simmons was carrying a significant quantity of drugs when officers stopped his vehicle.
