Sharon Stone Paid Leonardo DiCaprio, Russell Crowe Salaries For ‘The Quick and the Dead’

In her 2021 memoir, Stone revealed that she backed hiring a then-unknown DiCaprio for a role in the 1995 movie, The Quick and the Dead. “The studio said if I wanted him so much, I could pay him out of my own salary — so I did,” wrote Stone.
DiCaprio told E! News this week that he has thanked Stone “many times” for that act. “I don’t know if I sent her an actual, physical thank-you gift, but I cannot thank her enough,” said the actor.
Stone was a producer on the film, and also asked for Russell Crowe to appear in the movie, directed by Sam Raimi. “She said, ‘These are the two actors I want to work with,” DiCaprio recalled. “It’s incredible.
She’s been a huge champion of cinema and giving other actors opportunities, so I’m very thankful.” Stone said in the memoir that DiCaprio was the “only one who nailed the audition.
