A UFC fighter 'shut down' a busy road in south Manchester after his victory at the Co-op Live arena. Belal Muhammad became the new welterweight champion after beating Leon Edwards by unanimous decision in the main event of the UFC 304 at the arena in Manchester over the weekend.
Muhammad outlasted Birmingham-raised Edwards over five rounds, with judges scoring the contest 48-47, 48-47, 49-46 in favour of the American.
To celebrate his victory, Muhammad paraded his new belt down Wilmslow Road in Rusholme last night (Sunday). The fighter was filmed being slowly driven down the main road in a green sports car. Videos showed people waving Palestine flags as they cheered for the fighter. Muhammad also had a Palestine flag draped over the front of the car.
