Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is the 45th and current president of the United States. Before entering politics, he was a businessman and television personality. It also got the attention of the Grammy-winning singer’s management team and record label Sony Music Entertainment Canada, which issued a statement Saturday about “the unauthorized usage of the video, recording, musical performance, and likeness of Celine Dion singing ‘My Heart Will Go On’” at a Donald Trump / JD Vance campaign rally in Montana.” They made it clear that “in no way is this use authorized, and Celine Dion does not endorse this or any similar use.” The team also could not resist to point out the irony of using a song from a movie about one of the biggest disasters in naval history at a campaign rally. “…And really, THAT song?,” they ended their statement with, echoing the slew of sinking ship jokes about the music choice on social media.

This is not the first time “My Heart Will Go On” has been used at a Trump rally. It was featured at a Nov. 1, 2020 event in North Carolina during the final stretch of the Presidential campaign, leading to The View panel having a chuckle the following morning and moderator Whoopi Goldberg noting, “The irony is just magnificent.” Added co-cost Sara Haines, “That does not bode well for anyone.” The song also played at a June 2021 Trump rally in North Carolina and was on the playlist for the Jan.
