Body found in search for missing Salford man Tomasz Swietek

A body has been found in the search for a missing Salford man, Greater Manchester Police have said. Tomasz Swietek, 45, went missing after leaving Salford Royal Hospital on August 1.

A huge search operation has been underway ever since, with officers sharing CCTV footage of Tomasz walking down Centenary Way.

Sadly, on Saturday evening (August 10) police said they had found a body earlier in the day. Formal identification has not yet taken place, but Mr Swietek's family have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers. Police previously said they believed him to have been close to the Lighthouse Church at around 9.55pm that same night. In a statement, the force said: "Officers searching for missing Tomasz Swietek sadly found the body of a man earlier today.
