A Bury headteacher who went missing was found dead in a park near his home, an inquest hearing has been told. The body of Benjamin Sulzbacher, 48, was found at Philips Park by a friend of over 20 years, on Wednesday, September 27 this year.
Mr Sulzbacher was born in London and was living in Prestwich. He was married and worked as a headteacher, the opening of an inquest at Rochdale Coroner's Court heard.
He is understood to have been a father of eight and previously been the principal of a school in the area. He was there for 'two to three weeks' and was released just days before his death, Police Coroner's Officer Kathy Skelton told the court. "He left the family home on September 27, at 11am.
His son reported him missing at 1:15pm and a search was commenced" Ms Skelton continued. She said his body was discovered by the friend later that day. "There are no suspicious circumstances" Ms Skelton added.
