The dancer was forced to leave the BBC One dance contest last month after his celebrity partner Amanda Abbington confirmed she couldn't continue.
The actress pulled out of one of the live shows due to 'medical reasons'. Before she and Giovanni were due to return for last weekend's Halloween special, it was announced Amanda would be leaving the competition due to 'personal reasons'.
The Sherlock star later said: "It is with deepest regret that I had to leave Strictly. I did not come to this decision easily or lightly but for personal reasons, I am unable to continue," and hasn't elboarted on her reason for leaving the hit competition since.
