The 'dangerous' paedophile who poses a 'significant risk' to young girls

A paedophile who tried to rape a teenage girl at a house was dubbed a 'dangerous offender' by a judge who jailed him for more than eight years, police said.

Detectives who investigated the case went on to describe Jeremy Wood as a 'dangerous individual who presents a significant risk' to girls.

Wood was found guilty of attempting to rape a teenage girl at a house in Lancashire. The horrific incident happened in September 2022 and Lancashire Constabulary said 'thankfully Wood was disturbed before he could succeed'. He was found guilty of attempted rape earlier this year and hauled back into the dock at Burnley Crown Court on Friday (June 14) where a Judge deemed him to be a 'dangerous offender'.
