Eamonn Holmes took a sharp jab at his ex-wife Ruth Langsford during his first public outing since their separation. The GB News anchor, 64, attended the TRIC Awards on Tuesday, stepping out alone for the first time since the couple announced their divorce after 14 years.
Despite the personal challenges, Eamonn showed resilience by attending the event in a wheelchair. While accepting the award for best breakfast show with co-host Isabel Webster, Eamonn seemed to allude to his former partner in his speech.Eamonn remarked: "I got two things in my back that I didn't want," which appeared to be a double entendre referencing both his back surgery and his relationship with Ruth.
He expressed gratitude to the audience, saying: "Thank you very much for this award. We were up against world class programmes and that makes it a little bit more special.
Sometimes we all think about imposter syndrome," reports the Mirror. Continuing, he shared: "I went for an operation a year and a half ago and it went wrong," before adding the quip about unwanted things in his back.
