Arkane Austin was working on updates for Redfall hours before Microsoft confirmed it was closing down the studio.According to reports, Arkane Austin had been developing an offline mode for the first-person shooter as well as working on Redfall‘s Hero DLC, which had been sold as part of the £80 ($100) Bite Back edition. The studio had been hoping to finally launch the DLC this Halloween.IGN sources claim the studio had been expecting to release an offline mode for the “always online” Redfall later this month, a feature fans had been requesting since before the game had even launched.

Starfield is getting a story DLC, Shattered Space, this autumn and a new, free update that will be announced in the next few days, according to Todd Howard.In an interview with Kinda Funny Games, with transcriptions from VGC, Bethesda director Todd Howard confirmed “Shattered Space is in the fall, but we have a big update that’s coming really soon for Starfield.”Shattered Space was announced last year, back in June, and comes included with the proce of Starfield‘s premium editions. Players who bought those should be able to download the DLC when it launches at no extra cost, while players who only have the base game or Game Pass version will be required to pay up.“There’s a lot of stuff… we redid the map stuff, so we have some city map stuff,” said Howard.

Fallout London, an upcoming Fallout 4 overhaul mod set in London, has been “screwed” by Bethesda dropping a next-gen update for the game without warning.Speaking to the BBC, with transcriptions from PC Gamer, project lead Dean Carter says the update “has, for a lack of a better term, screwed us over.” The mod was due to launch on April 23, St Geroge’s day, and the “in-game start date”, but those plans have since been scrapped, with the launch pushed back indefinitely while the team takes time “tweaking and testing to get things as stable as we can for you all in time for that release.”Updates to games can frequently interfere with mods that then have to be updated too. Bethesda Softworks apparently rejected multiple proposals from Obsidian Entertainment to create more games in the Fallout series, after the release of 2010’s Fallout: New Vegas.Fallout: New Vegas was the only title Obsidian Entertainment worked on in the Fallout franchise, but according to co-founder and former chief creative officer Chris Avellone, the studio pitched further games to Bethesda alongside ideas for Elder Scrolls spin-offs. All of them were turned down.Taking to social media last year to answer about the lack of a sequel to Fallout: New Vegas, Avellone revealed it was the question that kept him awake at night for “years”.
