Teenager dies after being found with serious injuries in street

A teenager has died after being found in the street with serious injuries as they investigate his death. The 18-year-old man was found on Booth Road in Altrincham, around eight miles from Manchester, at around 5am on Saturday morning.

He tragically died at the scene.Detectives with Greater Manchester Police are now following "multiple lines of inquiry" to establish what happened to the youth, they have said.

A forensic tent was in place on Booth Road this morning, with a cordon in place, along with part of neighbouring Dunham Road, with a visible police presence in the area, including forensic officers, reports the Manchester Evening News.A spokesperson said: "Greater Manchester Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit is investigating an incident on Booth Road in Altrincham. "At around 5am this morning, August 12, 2023, an 18-year-old man was found in the road with serious injuries and despite best efforts of emergency services he tragically passed away at the scene."A cordon has been implemented and officers are working at pace to establish the full circumstances surrounding his death and are following up multiple lines of inquiry."Anyone with relevant information or footage - including CCTV, mobile or dashcam - is encouraged to get in touch.
