Stephen Fry is poised for a celebrated comeback as the host of 'Jeopardy!' on ITV, with whispers of a second series in the pipeline.
Contestants will engage in a cerebral contest, providing questions as answers to win cash prizes. The 66-year-old intellectual giant and ex-'QI' host is ready to return to our screens, steering the UK version of the iconic quiz show during weekday evenings.
Fry has been vocal about preserving the essence of the original show's format. In a conversation with the Daily Star newspaper's Hot TV column, he remarked: "I was fairly insistent from the outset that we shouldn't compromise on the standard and or dicker about with the rules and procedures, which are time-honoured and proven." It's not very different at all." He acknowledged a unique British element to the show: "The only real difference is that the UK version is a little longer with an extra round." A substantial sum awaits the victors, reports the Mirror.
