A woman claims she was left bald and covered in painful blisters after paying £1300 for botched hair extensions at a Scots salon.

Shauna Higgins, 24, suffered medically induced hair loss and booked an appointment at Oh So Gorgeous hairdressers, in Dundee, to boost her confidence. She forked out for mesh integration hair extensions on December 16, 2022, with salon owner Mandy Collins, who advertises as a hair loss specialist and award winning stylist.

The process sees hair extensions integrated with a customer's own hair and connected to a mesh hairpiece placed at the root of the hair.Despite handing over £1300 in cash, Shauna claims the extensions and her own hair began to fall out and left her bald within four weeks. She told the Record: "Mandy was meant to be qualified and the best at what she does. "She was confident she could fit the hair extensions and took £1,300 up front in cash. "As soon as the hair extensions were in, problems started. "The hair piece only covered half of my head.

When I complained Mandy told me I needed more rows of extensions fitted, which I had done. "I could still see the mesh visibly through my own hair.
