VAR talk appears to have picked up more than ever in recent weeks, most notably with Liverpool’s wrongly disallowed goal at Tottenham and the discourse surrounding Anthony Gordon’s winner for Newcastle against Arsenal last weekend, with Gunners boss Mikel Arteta calling out PGMOL.
It’s not just goals and red cards which are a talking point though, with other rules still having an impact on the length of matches.
At the start of the campaign, there was the introduction of a ’30 second rule’, where players must stay off the pitch for at least half a minute after receiving treatment, brought in to stop players running down the clock.
