Aberdeen have agreed a deal and terms for Pape Habib Gueye – with the contract subject to a work permit being issued. The Dons have had a substantial package, thought to be around £500,000, accepted for the Kortrijk striker and the 23-year-old has also thrashed out a long-term deal.

Aberdeen have now applied for a visa and are waiting for the green light to complete the move. Gueye would then be able to fly to Scotland for his medical and to sign off the deal.

The former Senegal Under-20 striker has played his entire senior career in Europe with Norwegian side Aalesunds and then with Belgian side Kortrijk.

Barry Robson has already overhauled his squad as he looks for what will be a successful domestic and European assault and he has now brought in 12 players to help with the demands on both fronts.
