James McGarry is adamant Aberdeen can defy the odds and make their mark in the Europa Conference League. The Dons were drawn in Group G in Friday's draw, alongside Bundesliga cracks Eintracht Frankfurt, PAOK and HJK Helsinki.
New boy McGarry believes they can take heart from the amount of chances they created in their play-off defeat to BK Hacken at Pittodrie and in a few weeks Barry Robson’s new-look side should be up and running.McGarry, asked if the Dons can make an impact in the group stage, said: “Absolutely.
We are going to do a review of this game but if you are creating that many chances against good opposition you are going into that league and do the same thing if not more.
We just need to finish them. It was a big move for me but Thursday showed me why I came over, for these big European games. You can be really disappointed and gutted, which we are.“But I think we’d be more disappointed if we didn’t create those chances and go into games not having had 25 shots and four or five really good chances we should have taken.
