A new mural depicting the late Sir Bobby Charlton has been painted on The Trafford pub near to the home of Manchester United.

Sir Bobby passed away at the age of 86 on October 21. His funeral, attended by 1,000 people including legends of the game, was held at Manchester Cathedral on Monday (November 13).

That was accompanied by a memorial procession, which passed by Old Trafford and the Holy Trinity Statue — which depicts Charlton with George Best and Denis Law, the attacking trio which spearheaded the Red Devils to win the 1968 European Cup, becoming the first English team to do so.

In all, Sir Bobby made 758 appearances for United, won the 1966 World Cup with England, and was his country’s record goalscorer until 2015.
