A man whose 'pitbull-type dog' bit a teenager's arm has been given his seized pet back - but with a strict set of rules. Carl Jamieson found himself in court after the animal sunk its teeth into the youngster in the summer.
The dog, Hugo started 'playfully biting' his lead while out for a walk, a court heard. It then jumped up and bit the teenager, tearing their coat sleeve, leaving them with 'superficial' scratches.
Greater Manchester Police solicitor Alice Cocker told Tameside Magistrates' Court Mr Jamieson, 36, had the dog taken off him after a member of the public who witnessed the incident called the police. The court heard staff there said the pet was 'well behaved and easy to handle', describing it as 'approachable and friendly, but boisterous'.
