Lanarkshire pupils collect litter on "march for change"

Pupils from a Lanarkshire school took action in their community as they staged a “march for change”.Youngsters at Kirkshaws Primary and Nursery toured the streets around the Coatbridge school holding banners displaying some of the guarantees in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, such as the right to be safe, to have a home, education, healthcare and to play.They combined the event with a litter pick involving every class group – and filled 25 bin bags with litter collected from the area around their school.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

As well as staff and parent helpers, they were joined on the day by Coatbridge South councillors Geraldine Woods and Andrew Bustard.
