A man who murdered a mum and daughter before burying their bodies under his kitchen floor has lost a bid to appeal against his conviction and sentence.Andrew Innes, 52, stabbed and beat Bennylyn Burke, 25, to death with a hammer before strangling Jellica, two, at his home in Dundee.
He lured Bennylyn from Bristol to Dundee after targeting her through a dating website in 2021. At the High Court in Edinburgh in February, Innes was ordered to serve at least 36 years before he can apply for parole.
He challenged his conviction and sentence at the High Court of Criminal Appeal in Edinburgh but it was rejected by a judge who decided there are no “arguable grounds” for an appeal. Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - Sign up to our daily newsletter here .
