The actor, who is famed for playing Tyrone Dobbs, was celebrating his 42nd birthday on Sunday (August 11). Fans of the ITV soap may recall Alan first appearing on the cobbles 26 years ago, with his debut airing in November 1998.
His first scenes saw him playing Kirby's Dream Land when his assumed mother Jackie Dobbs came to stay with Deirdre Barlow, who who been her cellmate in Redford Prison.
And the rest, as they say, is history.
